Welcome to the Thatched Tavern
This beautiful 400 year old beamed tavern, with its cosy bar and glowing fires serves traditional heart warming bar food such as; Cumberland sausages, creamy mash &
gravy ; and Thatched ox cheek & winter vegetable pudding. Good ‘old fashioned’ indulgence is the order of the day in the restaurant, where you’ll find classic English fayre and daily fresh fish specials on the a la carte menu.
“The Thatch”, as it is endearingly known is steeped in local history. Even in the 1700 ‘s it was a well known landmark – and it is said that Queen Victoria’s Royal Carriage was sometimes seen outside, while John Brown was fortifying himself inside before his onward journey to Windsor Castle!
